Original Article: Search Still On for Shooter in Police Killings
Law enforcement agencies are intensifying their search for the man believed to have shot and killed four police officers in Lakewood Sunday.

An overnight police stand-off in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood failed to turn up 37-year-old Maurice Clemmons. All day, police have been chasing down leads.

“We have been responding to numerous reports all over the city of possible suspect sightings,” says Detective Mark Jamieson, with the Seattle Police Department. “Unfortunately, none of them have panned out.”

Police searched houses in Tacoma and Seattle believed to be connected to Clemmons. Reports that Clemmons been seen getting off a bus at the University of Washington triggered a campus-wide alert. A report of a fresh blood trail in a park near the university sent police there, as well, but nothing was found. Clemmons is believed to have been shot during his struggle with one of the officers who died yesterday.

Police were looking for a car registered to Clemmons’ wife, but discovered it was sold two months ago.

The Washington State Patrol says all officers are on the alert and that trains, buses and other transportation hubs are being watched, as well.

A $125,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Clemmons’ capture.
