Author: Food lovers from inside and outside Seattle’s restaurant biz are holding a meet-up at the Palace Ballroom Nov. 2, featuring Thierry Rautureau (Rover’s), Ethan Stowel (How to Cook a Wolf) and Kurt Dammeier (Beecher’s Cheese). If you’re lucky, you could get in for free.
Attendees will be able to sample fine eats from local restaurants and get a glass of wine too. There’ll even be a “speed networking” session with Julien Perry, “restaurant reporter for KOMO, the Food Editor for WINO Magazine, a producer for Urbanspoon, and a contributing writer for Seattle Weekly,” according to the Foodportunity.com site.
If you want to go, you can get tickets via Foodportunity’s site, or you can enter a drawing to win a pair of $30 tickets to the event by answering a simple question about who you’d like to meet in the Seattle food scene. I’d probably go with Dammeier as my pick if I had to choose, but it would be an agonizing decision because there are soooo many other excellent choices… After you enter on Rebekah’s site, let us know who you chose.

Several interesting food- and drink-related items have caught my attention. Dunno, maybe I’m just hungry. Here they are in no particular order:
Happy hour at Aster Coffee Lounge now includes Wii Bowling!. It’s not exactly a replacement for Ballard’s Sunset Bowl, but it’s probably a safe bet the coffee is of better quality.
If you like wine, read about “La Tour Des Favorites En Woodinville.” Blogger Gene Stein is offering you a chance to go along on the next jaunt.
