Author: According to The Microsoft Blog on the Seattle PI, the creator of the World Wide Web (Tim Berners-Lee, not Al G.) says he’s sorry for adding the two forward slashes in URLs, as in http://www, because they’re really not necessary.
Now if only I could get back all the time I’ve spent typing “//” into my browser…
